In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle in Wandsworth, you must be at least 21 years old; restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment information and a security deposit. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations for vehicle hire can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Wandsworth office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, with allowances made for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied as necessary. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You are accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to help lower your financial risk. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance covers it. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, and you must adhere to passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside of agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under applicable English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wandsworth is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount paid within the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraudulent actions.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be addressed solely within the jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms as needed. Changes take effect immediately once published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
